The only handbag you need is the one on your arm

Today is National Handbag Day!

I get a kick out of reading articles on how many handbags a lady need. The truth be told, you only need one, the one on your arm! 

My first nice handbag was a medium sized Etienne Aigner black patent leather, quilted saddle bag that I found at a store in Roanoke, VA more than 20 years ago. It has a single long, leather strap and I still have it to this day. I pull it out occasionally. A thumbs up purchase!

Another nice handbag that I have is a small black suede rectangular purse. It has a long black cord as a strap, and a single crystal ornament as a clasp. It really is quite lovely, and my special occasion bag. I would have to pull it out and look at the tag to tell you what the brand is, but I do recall it being reasonably priced. I got it when I moonlighted in retail for an exclusive ladies' fashion store on holidays and weekends for ten (10) years running!!! [Yeah, quite the record huh?] Another thumbs up purchase!

I was given a medium sized Coach inky blue, double strap (with a couple of buckles on each side) leather handbag as a gift about five (5) years ago. I've really enjoyed it. I see myself using it for many more years to come. I can easily wear it with a lot of different things. It has silver hardware which is my go to metallic.

I mostly use tote bags on a daily basis for utilitarian purposes. Carry a briefcase, a handbag, and a lunch bag to and fro every day? Not happening! It is all I can do to get everything in the tote bag, as it is! No particular brand needed, either. Even better.

You guessed it! I do not have or use a lot of handbags. It's just as well. I'd much rather have more shoes! I know, right?

I do have a handbag want on my bucket list, and that is a Chanel! Well; pardon me, who doesn't? The challenge for me will be in deciding which one. I will worry about that when the time comes.

Yes, we have got bags!
